Elijah's baptism

On September 12, 2009 Eli was baptized! What an exciting day for our family!! We are so proud of him for making this decision! Dunk 'em!!

Broken arm and stitches!!

The Ochoa boys are at it again! August we had stitches in Jacob's chin when he decided to climb on the counter to get a cup. He slipped and hit his chin on the granite counter top! By the way - this happened at 12:30 in the middle of the night!

3 1/2 weeks ago - Eli was in the office and decided to climb on the computer chair to get a book. Mind you he is tall enough to reach the top of the computer desk, but for some reason he made this choice?? Well - the story Dad and I got was, "Jacob through a pillow at me and I lost my balance!" When he fell he tangled in the chair and received a complete break in the radius bone - which required surgery and pins to be put in place for healing!! 2 days later he had a blue cast on from shoulder to knuckles. Yesterday the Dr. removed the pins from his arm and replaced the monster cast with a smaller red one right below his elbow to his knuckles. He will go back in 3 weeks to have an X-ray to make sure he has healed properly and then - cast free!!

Baseball Season - Go Reds!!

Baseball season has gone by so fast this year! It's amazing. Eli has enjoyed playing and I think he is getting a little more serious about playing. Owen is going to work with him and help him improve his skills. We are going to look into a fall team that doesn't play on Sundays. Robby and I are very proud of Eli for working so hard! Go Eli!!!!

Celebrating Birthdays for Dad, Robby & P-Nut

March is a big month for birthdays in the See/Ochoa Family! First we celebrate Papa See's birthday on the 18th, then Robby's on the 22nd, and the next day we celebrate P-Nut's Birthday! For Dad we went to The Monument Inn, which is his favorite place! They have an all you can eat fish, oyster and shrimp platter - let me tell you - we saw so much seafood come across our table we lost count after 2 hours! For Robby's birthday (which was on a Sunday this year) we celebrated at home with Steak, pasta alfredo, and a homemade German chocolate cake! For P-Nut, we went to her favorite restaurant Chilis! Robby brought her a tres leches cake with strawberries - Eli attempted to smash a piece in her face, but she avoided it and the cake landed on her shoulder. She was not too happy about this because she was wearing a new purple silk shirt! (Not to worry though - Sissy got it out with no problem!)

So needless to say - we had a wonderful time celebrating our March birthdays!!

Bobbie Jo

10 weeks ago my sister Bobbie-Jo was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma and started treatment at MD Anderson. This was such a shock to our family - immediately my thoughts were to NOT lose my faith! Our family has spent many hours with her at the hospital, running errands for my parents, and doing whatever we can to comfort her. To no avail - the meds did not work. My sister is dying and I can't do anything about it. My heart is broken. My parents are just crushed and my children are trying to understand what is going on. I am saddened by the thought that my precious nephew Jared will have to continue his journey on this earth without his mother. Her entire life she wanted to be a mom and she wanted that little boy more than anything. She has spent the last 10 years raising and nurturing him to be a strong young man. She has been a great aunt! For Example - Me "Please don't eat any more candy, Boys! It will ruin your dinner!" Aunt Bobbie-Jo, "Don't worry - you tell your mama I said it was OK! If she has a problem with it, I will take care of her!" :) This is how she handled everything. Whatever the boys wanted - Aunt Bobbie-Jo made sure they got it!

There will be a vacant spot in our hearts and our lives when she is gone. I have spent many hours with her at the hospital knowing her time is short. Last night I took the boys to see her, She told me that she looked forward to seeing their beautiful faces all day. She was even trying to take care of them while they were there with her. She just never stops. Her faith has become so strong and I know that she will be welcomed by many family members when she leaves this earth. My precious sister will leave this earth and I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the atonement and blessing of eternal families. I wish I could make it all better and do something to take the pain and hurt away that I know we will shortly feel. I know this is part of our Father's plan and one day we will have answers. For now - we will remain as strong as we can and continue to pray for her not to suffer. I love my sister and feel grateful for the short time we have had together on this earth. (Even though there were times that were not so easy) :) God Bless and God Speed.

Blue and Gold Banquet - Cub Scouts

What an exciting night for Eli, McLain and Elijah! They were able to participate in the Blue and Gold Banquet for Cub Scouts (even though they are not quite 8 years old) Together the boys with their mothers made pies for last night's dessert. The boys were presented with a blue and gold patch and then the Boys presented their mothers a certificate for the pies that were made. Mine was We're "NUTS" About you!

I can't believe my baby is going to be a Cub Scout! The boys will even get to participate in the twilight camp out in June this year. How exciting! So - here is another activity to fill their cup! Good Luck boys!

Heidelberg's Thor von Indiana

We are so excited to introduce the newest member of our family! Robby is so excited he is finally getting his shepherd!! We visited the Heidelberg German Shepherd Farm on Saturday (just to look!) and we found Thor! Robby has been talking for the last year that when he gets his shepherd puppy he is naming him Thor. When we got to the puppy farm, we looked for 3 hours at all the beautiful shepherds. We were there when the cold front moved in and rained then the temperature dropped 25 degrees! We played for a long time with Thor, the boys ran around in the grass with him, loved on him, kissed him, etc.

Thor was born on December 27, 2008 - He will get to come home with us on April 14, 2009 when he is 4 months old. We can't wait! We will keep you guys updated!!

The Happy Couple! 9 Years and counting!!

What a time we had last night! Robby surprised me and took me to the Boardwalk in Kemah last night. I wanted to ride the Bullet - but it is closed for Winter maintenance?? Winter?? This is Texas - we don't have Winter. Anywho - we had dinner at The Saltgrass Steakhouse (Robby's Favorite!) He had the Ribeye and I had the porterhouse! That's right, I ordered the Porterhouse!! That is the biggest steak I have ever seen! By the time we had our fried pickles, Shrimp enbrochette, and soup.....We were so full there was no room for the Steak! So - we have plenty of leftovers for Sunday dinner! As we sat in our booth, I was taking pictures of us (super fun!) and an older couple that was sitting next to us offered to take this picture of us! The gentleman asked if we were celebrating anything special??? We told him our anniversary! He said, "Well, that battle axe and I have been married for 50 years!" and she quickly replied, "Don't scare those babies!" They were both very nice - I hope Robby and I will be that happy when we make it to 50 Years!

Yurtle the Turtle story!

Thank goodness we now have a fence! Robby was cleaning the turtle tank on Tuesday. He put Yurtle in the wagon (thinking this would hold him) while he was cleaning - Robby needed to run a quick errand to pick up supplies at Home Depot. He was only gone a little while, but when he returned Yurtle was nowhere to be found! After looking through the entire backyard for over 2 hours. He finally called me with great disappointment to tell me that Yurtle had escaped. Lucky for him I was leaving work and came home to help him. I went in the backyard and walked the perimeter of the fence and when I arrived at the swing set - there he was! Hiding in the grass!! He is greeen - the grass is green..... HMMM! Small details! We are so glad that Yurtle is safe and back in his tank!

Final Stages on the house - Ike update

I can't believe it!

So - if anyone follows my mother's blog about her cat Lucky, you are familiar with his story. Born in the garage - abandoned by his mother - she nursed him by bottle to a nice fat cat!

Well - anyway, he is now living with us! I know I am allergic to cats! So, what am I thinking you ask. Well - my boys are super attached to the bundle of feline frenzy, and with my sister living with my parents in the small garage apartment. A home had to be found for him. Robby who says he hates cats (I have found him numerous times petting and playing with Lucky) was not happy about the new living arrangments. We now own a litter box (YUCK!!) Lucky runs and plays all over our house and has been sleeping at the foot of my bed?? I can't imagine how he got spoiled? Mom??

We are happy to help out and will keep you updated on our newest addition!

Updates on us!

It's been almost a month since I have updated everyone.

We moved back into our home on December 9, 2008 just in time for the holidays! The boys and I decorated the inside of our house that weekend which was very exciting! I took off the month of December to stay home with the boys and recover from losing Matthew, which was much needed family time.

The boys are doing well and are so excited about being back home. I can't tell you what a joy it is to be there! We are so greatful for the Church for supporting us and helping us get back home so quickly. Even though we love our children, you can only live in the La Quinta for so long!!

Christmas Eve, P-Nut spent the night for our annual Christmas morning tradition. She loves to be there when the boys open their presents from Santa. We always surprise her with a few gifts that the boys get for her. This year she was the photographer as we enjoyed our wrapping paper sprinkled living room! Santa was good to all of this year! I am very excited about Robby's present - I decided I am tired of investing in contact lenses with no return and made the investment for Robby to have Lasik Surgery!! That's right - he was thrilled with excitement. So if you see him running around in his glasses...... that is why! Robby had his appointment this past Wednesday and will have his surgery on 1/16/09.

So, we are all doing well - the boys are back in school and Mom is back at work. We wish all a great and happy 2009!

The Boy's and ME!

Seabrook, Texas, United States
My first passion in life is being a Wife and Mother! My second is being a Black Belt in Martial Arts and a workoutaholic! I am a full time working mother with two beautiful energetic boys that fill my days to the max! Let me introduce you to them: Elijah is loving 6 years old, loves spending time with his Nana and Papa! He enjoys playing LEGO Starwars on his Playstation with his younger brother Jacob, jumping on the trampoline, hanging out with his friends, reading his scriptures (he is working on memorizing the Articles of Faith), and fishing. Jacob is my very energetic 4 year old. His passion is playing the LEGO Starwars video game (and would do so non-stop if we would let him!), loves spending time with his friends, jumping on the trampoline, reading books, and mostly spending time with his big brother Eli!
